Our team — Kirsten Hunter & Doris Tu

Raised in Hong Kong and Singapore and learning Mandarin from the age of eight, Kirsten read Chinese Studies at Oxford before taking her fluency and network into sales roles at Halcyon Gallery and Fabergé — running the Harrods team, launching the Lane Crawford operation in Hong Kong, and spending years on the ground in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou.

She founded Hunter Inc in 2015 to build the firm she would herself have wanted to hire: bilingual, bicultural, close to the client. Widely recognised as a China hand, she sits with the British Council and Investec Women Entrepreneurs, and is a trusted advisor on China strategy to a small number of houses she is careful never to name.

Born and raised in Shanghai and educated in the south of France, Doris returned home to build a career first with ultra-high-net-worth families and later in marketing and partnerships. She now leads the Shanghai team — and is where our private-office instinct, a blend of rigorous personal service and cultural fluency, began.

Fluent in Mandarin, Shanghainese, French and English, Doris keeps a live read on Chinese consumer behaviour and the platforms shaping it — WeChat, Weibo, RED — and translates that into how Western brands should show up in-market.
